What does the state of Maryland plan to buy this fiscal year? Find out on the Procurement Forecast tab of the Governor’s Office of Small, Minority & Women Business Affairs’website. LOCAL SMALL BUSINESSES – be sure to also complete the section that pops up saying “Your business may be eligible for the Montgomery County Local Small Business Reserve Program (LSBRP) ” to see if your business meets our LSBRP requirements. If so, apply to the LSBRP to gain access to the 20% of eligible procurement dollars reserved for LSBRP-certified firms only.

5/1/2018-PowerUp DC 2018:

The 3rd Annual POWERUP DC National Small Business Week Forum is designed to provide small businesses and non-profits with information, tools, resources and services to support their startup and growth into prospering enterprises. The forum will focus specifically on one of the greatest needs of entrepreneurs, access to capital to start, grow and prosper. It will also focus on procurement opportunities in both the private and government sectors, certification and licensing, emerging industries, business trends as well as funding and capacity-building for non-profit entities. Additionally, the participants will learn about the benefits of the ACA and health insurance options for small businesses through DC Health Link, the District’s online health insurance marketplace.

5/10/2018 – 2018 HUD HUBZone Small Business Conference:

On Thursday, May 10, 2018, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) and Office of the Chief Procurement Officer (OCPO) are co-sponsoring a Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) Small Business Conference at the HUD Headquarters Building in Washington, DC.

 

The conference will provide businesses, both new and experienced, access to information on the laws, rules, and regulations that govern the HUBZone Program. Additionally, businesses will have an opportunity to meet with key HUD staff and contracting officers/specialists to discuss their capabilities and learn about upcoming potential procurement opportunities. Also, in attendance other Federal Agency partners, representatives from some of HUD’s prime contractors and supporting organizations.

 

HUBZone businesses are highly encouraged to participate; however, this event is open to all businesses.

5/30/2018-Health & Human Services Pathway to Success:

This event will bring together business and government for a discussion about emerging technologies including artificial intelligence that will change how the Department of Health & Human Services will acquire goods and services in the future.
